Wedding Guidelines

  • Beware of any DJ that requires and demands full payment upfront.  What if the DJ is no longer in business or unreachable when your date approaches? Unfortunately this has been recent issue in the wedding industry.
  • Ask for references and testimonies.  It’s unfortunate, but many companies send out brand new employees and call them a “DJ” without any training or experience for your once in a lifetime event.  In some of these situations you would not have even spoken to your DJ until you see them at the reception.  This would be a recipe for disaster!
  • If a deal sounds too good to be true it probably is.  Never fall for endless promises or that you won some sweepstakes or drawing.  One of the most important factors in choosing the right entertainment is how long they have been in business.  Rusch Entertainment has over 40 years of experience in providing top quality reception entertainment and we are still growing!
  • You must have a contract written up that states all expectations for both the DJ and the customer (times, price, location and date should be clearly visible).
  • The music should start when the first guest arrives at the reception.  You don’t want your DJ loading gear in while your guests are arriving.
  • Your DJ must provide you with a planning form for songs and timelines so the DJ can customize your event for your specific desires.  We provide an exclusive on-line planning form for your convenience that you can access 24 hours a day to update your itinerary and personalize your whole evening.
  • The DJ should have a wireless microphone for the toasts.
  • All DJs should provide a lighting package (fog, lasers, up lighting and intelligent light shows are optional)
  • There are websites available to review the experiences that real customers have had with their DJs (www.theknot.com and www.weddingwire.com, just to name a few).  The information you find here may be priceless and very helpful in your decision!
